Sugar is the new oil

We believe cellulosic sugars will become the raw materials for tomorrow’s plastic bottles, acrylics, ethanol, and more. Conservative estimates show bio-based markets growing 10x over the next 15 years to over $1.4 trillion*, with a 16% compounded annual growth rate.

People have real needs and compelling wants that sometimes compromise their ability to live as green as they would like to. These challenges range from the primary basic needs of food - to the tertiary nice to haves, like ’my own car that I can afford to drive whenever and wherever I want to go’. The added cost of going green (even indirectly via higher prices for corn and sugar cane, when others convert) or the personal sacrifices of convenience, are two issues that create barriers to the practical integration of green technology today, on a meaningful scale. The Renmatix solution addresses both of these challenges. We don’t make it more expensive to drive your car, and we do it without consuming resources that could feed your family. This important distinction sets us apart from other technologies in the cleantech field. It opens the door for us to serve vast markets with growing demand, across the globe.

Significant development underway in converting sugars to chemicals

We believe that the market for biochemicals derived from cellulose will exceed $1 trillion. With these renewable biochemicals manufacturable at market-leading prices through our affordable sugar technology, Renmatix and its customers are uniquely positioned to benefit as highly profitable participants in this burgeoning new marketplace.

Significant development underway in converting sugars to fuels

Renmatix also has a compelling value proposition for biofuels via conversion of our sugars into affordable cellulosic ethanol or other advanced biofuels. Given the visibility implied by gas prices and the speed with which we all feel their impact on our wallets – it is tempting for us to marshall our resources and pursue biofuel exclusively, as the most prominent proving ground for our new technology. Despite the significant media and consumer attention focused on this segment (as home to the most well known bio-based end products) and potential seduction of trailblazing ‘headline fame’ – Renmatix is committed to balancing the long term potential of much needed biofuels with shorter run time horizons for lesser known, but equally important, early biochemical initiatives.

Renmatix has a resolute commitment to providing low-cost, high-volume access to cellulosic sugars as the intermediary building blocks for both chemicals and fuels.
